Dear Parents,
Newsletter 2008/5
Staffing News: Mrs. Jane Douglass, at present teaching in Gloucester, has been appointed to teach Class 2B, during the time that Mrs. Broadhurst is Acting Head after half term.
Football Club : I would like my football club to continue if possible during my absence next month. Is there a Dad who could spare an hour after school on Thursdays to run the club for me? Please let me know if you can help. Many, many thanks in anticipation.
Cake Sale in aid of Sightsavers: Thank you for the donations of cakes and biscuits for yesterday’s sale. £103.60 has been raised and sent to the Sightsavers charity. This means that as many as 100 children in the Third World will have their sight saved or restored by surgery, or by the administration of preventative medication.
Parents’ Evenings-Monday and Tuesday: A reminder that the two evenings are for parents to have an update of their children’s progress and to discuss targets for the remainder of the year. Could you make every effort, if at all possible, to make arrangements not to bring the children to school on these evenings as there is no-one to take responsibility for them while you are with the teachers.
It is very important for all parents to meet their children’s teachers – education is a partnership between school and home and these discussions always prove to be very valuable for teachers, parents and pupils, and without fail go a long way to enhancing the children’s quality of education. If you are unable to attend next week, please make contact with your child’s teacher to make an appointment at a mutually convenient time.
The Coigne Playgroup :Please see over for a notice about the Playgroup Spring Fete.
Lost coat: I have had a special request to mention a lost coat. It has a blue, corded appearance, a zip front and a “street gear” tag, but it has no name in it. If it is found, please hand it in to the office.
We do have a vast collection of lost property that sits in the white box by the hall doors, most of it un-named. If every parent named or marked their children’s clothes, in theory our lost property box would remain empty!
The Adventure Playground is damaged:. Please make sure that no pre- school children play on it while you are waiting to collect your children from school
Yours sincerely,
R.J.Harris
