Kenyan Teachers in Gloucestershire : We are hosting a reciprocal visit by two Kenyan teachers for 12 days this month. Mr. Isaac Mwangi, Headteacher of Mwagu Primary School in Gatura, Kenya is Minchinhampton School’s link teacher, and Mrs. Emiliana from Karangi Kiana Primary School is the link teacher with Rodmarton School. They will spend time in our two schools, as well as visiting local secondary schools too.
They would like to meet as many parents, governors, teachers and people linked with education and Gloucestershire way of life as possible during their stay. I am hoping that the governors and PTA will host an evening for them and if any parents would like to invite them to their homes for an evening meal, to meet them and talk (about anything!) please let me know. I have to say that both Isaac and Emiliana have never been out of Kenya before and are both lovely people.
Whitby 2008 : May I remind parents of the Y6 children going to Whitby in September/October that the final payments should be made at the beginning of September, or preferably before the end of this term. If you are not sure how much you owe, please contact the office for details.
