Dear Parents,
Newsletter 2008/14
Dads required (or Mums!): Tom Shearman is running our cricket club on Wednesdays after school for an hour. For this to continue successfully with the number of children taking part, we do need additional pairs of hands. If any parent can help, please let Mrs. Broadhurst, the office or me know. Many thanks. (You won’t have to have an expert knowledge or skill at cricket to help!)
Science Week: Our Science Week is planned for the first week after half term. Each class will be taking part in a range of science activities during the week. The week will begin with a spectacular “Mad Science Assembly on Monday morning”. You might like to know that the following visits have been arranged for the children:

A message from the Minchinhampton Moonwalkers
Have you seen a group of mums standing around the edge of the playground in their walking gear over the last few months and wondered what they were up to? They are the Minchinhampton Moonwalkers, five women all in training for the Playtex Moonwalk in London which takes place on Saturday, 17 May. The goal is to raise over £10,000 to go towards researching the causes, cures and cares for anyone suffering from one of the UK’s most aggressive illnesses – breast cancer. All the funds go to the Walk-the-Walk charity, the organisers of the Moonwalk.
Last Wednesday (7 May), the five mothers – Angela Brown, Jackie McCormick, Louisa Nott, Ali Richards and Annie McGill were sporting their Walk-the-walk bra t-shirts and pink hats (met with “urgh!” from the children
PTO
in the playground!!). They were about to embark on their 20 mile training walk around Minchinhampton, Cherington, Rodmarton and Culkerton. But, rather than pester anyone with sponsor forms or charity tins Jackie McCormick has set up a charity page for you to make a donation: www.justgiving.com/minchinhamptonmoonwalkers. Alternatively you can always find one of them in the playground (they are the ones with a healthy glow and dog on a lead) if you would like to make a contribution. If you cannot find the web site and want to find out more, then call Angela on 01453 834 650.
Yours sincerely,
