May16th 2008,

Dear Parents,

Newsletter 2008/15

Kenyan Visitors : We are looking forward to hosting a visit from Mr. Isaac Mwangi, Headteacher at Mwagu School, Gatura, in Kenya and Mrs. Emilianna Mutchonikaruma, teacher at Karangi Kiana Primary School in the Kenyan Highlands for two weeks after half term. They arrive on June 8th and will be staying locally, spending time in our school and in Rodmarton School. They will be learning about the English education system and developing their knowledge of primary schools in Gloucestershire, as well as having the opportunity to enjoy English country life!  Hopefully, events will be arranged when parents, PTA members and governors as well as staff of our school, will be able to meet and enjoy our guests’ company.  When I was in Kenya six months ago, the welcome and friendship I received was over-whelming and I hope that we can reciprocate that friendship when they are with us.  I will keep you informed of the programme of events.

Fun Relays at TK School this afternoon : We hope the children taking part in the fun relay afternoon at Thomas Keble School enjoy their session this afternoon, and we wish the Wildlife Quiz Team good luck in the Stroud Area Final on Tuesday afternoon at Woodchester School.

Orchestra : Orchestra resumes at 8.20 a.m. on Tuesday, as normal.

Indian Curry Night:  Many thanks to all of you who supported and helped at this event - hope you had a good time and enjoyed the scrumptious meal!  Delighted to say that over £370 was raised.

Coffee, Clothes and Cards Tuesday next, May 20th 8.45 a.m.:  On offer is a free drink and on sale will be nearly new uniform and Phoenix cards.  Come along to the Hall at 8.45am.  If you can donate any uniform in a good sellable condition, please hand into the office, thank you.

Next PTA meeting, June 4th :  All welcome to come along at 8.00pm to Mrs Smith's classroom, entry via middle playground.

Yours sincerely,

R.J.Harris
