2008 Science Week Class 1A 1S 1H

Class 1A : We loved the Assembly with Lightning Rod on Monday.  His leaf blower was very funny when he blew it into his face. 

We had a great time at @Bristol on Tuesday.  Our favourite Science activities were the football games (it was to get the football in the corners to score a goal), the funny mirrors, the water machine, the musical instruments, the tag game, the gloop experiments, the huge bubble blower, the hot air balloon and the basketball game. 

On other days, we made parachutes, our own bubble blowers, sycamore spinners, rocket launchers, amazing magnetic games and we used the science zone in ICT.  We love science!

Class 1H :  We liked the Mad Science Assembly and bouncing balls to see which bounced the highest, and collecting mini-beasts in the rain!  We had a wonderful time at Tetbury Leisure Centre where we used up lots of energy.  We had a magician called Ace of Diamonds who did a lot of tricks which involved science.  We had a very messy session with gloop (cornflour and water) and salt dough.

  Class 1S :  We washed lots of things and found out which fabric dried the quickest and found out they dried best hanging on the line.  We loved making boats and seeing if they floated.  We really liked trying to make plasticine float. 

We all ate bread rolls that we cooked.  It was amazing how big the dough got!  We loved our helicopters made from paper.

We loved blowing paint to make pictures.  We learnt how to count our pulse and measured how much we had grown. We had a lovely trip to Plump Hill when we took our teddies and found them things to eat and drink, and built them a house in the woods.
