2008 Science Week - Year 5 & 6
Y5/6 During Science Week we did a variety of activities. We had loads of experiments set up for us to do on Wednesday, ranging from chromatography to testing acids and alkaline. To add to all the excitement we went to Plump Hill Environmental Centre to study pond life. We made a picture book “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” – the butterfly was made using chromatology. We grew crystals by using saturated solutions, we had a visiting speaker who talked to us about the body, and Mrs. Blundell did some eggciting activities – “Ready, Eggy, Go”. We made (and tasted!) savoury and sweet foods that used eggs as an ingredient. We also had a circus of 13 different science activities taking place in our classrooms. Overall it was an excellent week!
